The datasets provided here contain data that is already publicly available on the Burning Man site or other official Burning Man sources. Additional datasets will be added over time, based upon the availability of data and originating sources. Due to the nature of a volunteer supported organization and operational priorities, we cannot guarantee all datasets will be available or updated with regularity. Your mileage may vary. The Art Discovery Audio Guide is an audio based tour to prepare for your awesome art-filled playa experience.

Your curious audio tour guides are “Diablo” (Tim Nakayama), spec Guy, Leanne Unruh, “DitchWitch” (Wendy Baker), and “G-Spot” (Geralda Miller).

The guide is available via Soundcloud and we encourage you to point your users to download it there.

This dataset contains a zip of all the WAV files with original titles and zips of the tracks named with the UID of the art installation in wav and aac formats.

2024 Golden Spike and General City Map Data

The Golden Spike is a physical stake that establishes the center most point of Black Rock City. From this coordinate, the layout of city streets and location of key installations are mapped. The coordinates provided here are estimates until the official golden spike is placed. We also provide a more accurate map in KML and MBTiles formats the first week of August.

2023 Art Discovery Audio Guide

The Art Discovery Audio Guide is an audio based tour to prepare for your awesome art-filled playa experience.

The guide is available via Soundcloud and we encourage you to point your users to download it there.

This dataset contains a track listing with the UID and full art installation name for each track, a zip of all the WAV files with original titles, and zips of the tracks named with the UID of the art installation in wav and aac formats.

2023 GIS Map Data

Black Rock City is planned and operated using precise mapping data gathered and processed after the Golden Spike is set at the center of the city. This dataset is exported from that mapping operation and provides the GPS locations of streets, trash fence, and points of interest in the city.
